Meet your therapist,

Cristina Yturralde

M.C., LPC, NCC, certified Brainspotting therapist, StoryPlay Practitioner and Brainspotting Consultant

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Brainspotting Consultant and StoryPlay Practitioner with a deep passion for helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges. My approach is rooted in compassion, resilience, and holistic healing, ensuring that each client feels supported in their journey toward emotional well-being.

My Approach

I believe in the power of a strength-based, integrative approach to therapy that honors the brain-body connection. One of my specialties is Play Therapy, a child-centered technique that allows children to express themselves naturally through play, art, and storytelling. I am a StoryPlay practitioner, using this approach to help children discover their inner strengths and process emotions in a way that feels natural to them.

I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and a Brainspotting Consultant. Brainspotting is a powerful and effective brain based (limbic system) and body (somatic) approach to healing and wellness that harnesses the nervous system ability to recognize and realign itself, enhancing resilience and facilitating change. My work extends to guiding other therapists in Brainspotting certification.

My Personal Journey & Specialty Areas

I have a personal and professional commitment to supporting individuals facing serious medical illnesses, chronic pain, fatigue and medical trauma. My passion for this work stems from my own experience as a child diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, a journey that shaped my understanding of resilience, trust, and emotional healing. Having spent years working within an integrated health model, I recognize the deep connection between emotional and physical well-being. I specialize in working with children, teens and adults navigating chronic illness and medical trauma, parents balancing caregiving responsibilities, families adjusting to life-changing diagnoses, individuals seeking brain-body healing for emotional and physical distress, and everything in-between.

Why I Love This Work

I truly love what I do. Every day, I witness the resilience of children, the transformation of families, and the breakthroughs of adults reclaiming their inner strength. Whether through Play Therapy, Brainspotting, or parts work, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space for healing and growth.

If you or your child are navigating emotional challenges, medical trauma, or simply seeking a compassionate space to heal, I am here to help.

Let’s work together—through it all.
